Well, here it is. On Sunday, I will officially be in the last year of my 30s. Remember being a teenager and thinking, “wow, 40 is OLD”? Now at the bridge of the last year of my 30s and almost into those “dreaded” 40s.

Here’s the thing, I have zero trepidation thinking about in a few short months, another decade of my life will begin. In fact, I’m embracing it. I had my first kid in my twenties, tried the whole dating thing too much, and felt lost. My thirties have been a time to have my second kid, get married, and start realizing what my dreams were. It’s hard coming from a place of trauma to understand that your dreams matter and can happen.

What I’m looking forward to in the last year of the my 30s:

  1. Setting down a solid foundation for my hopes and aspirations. My 30s have been about finding the strength to know I deserve to dream. I deserve to do what makes me happy. From now on, I will take those dreams and keep working towards a sustainable future for my goals to manifest.
  2. Coming to terms with my past. We can not change our past; however, we can change how we react to it and what we make of the future. We can use trauma or anything that has negatively impacted us for the greater good for ourselves, families, and the community.
  3. The lack of pressure
