Life is a Personal Journey
Stop comparing yourself to others.
There is a path in which most of us are taught from a young age; go to school, get a job, get married, have kids, and well, that’s it. That societal outline is ingrained in us at such a young age; any deviance can make our lives feel unworthy.
This is just a friendly reminder that your life and anyone else’s is not the same. From the ‘ole nature vs. nurture to a million other reasons, we all lead different lives. While some of us have similarities, such as going to school as a child, those experiences are not the same for everyone.
We’re all trying to “keep up with the Joneses” from the outside. However, what the Joneses are doing may not be what is best for you and your life at the time.
“Some beautiful paths can’t be discovered without getting lost.”― Erol Ozan
Growing up, many of us are forced into thinking life is supposed to look the same for everyone, and dang it; you better be happy doing it the same way as everyone else. This way of thinking can be detrimental when something goes wrong.
Here’s the deal, no one is on this Earth for the same reason. When something deviates from our original plan, we become afraid that our life is over. A breakup, a job loss, or not making it into a program can throw us for a curveball.
